Initial Commentary
The organization of the journals is haphazard because the course provided minimal direction on what should be discussed from the literature, so they appear disjointed from piece to piece. Essentially, all of these journals/discussions need to be reformatted for my intended project. I will also have to determine which writers to keep and which to put aside in the unit. I like all the writers I chose to write about from the anthology, as I typically wrote about the ones I found most interesting. All of the writers are still “useful” to be built into the unit of study, as their voices are vital to the unit. I will reframe the analysis of the readings to complete this revision project, as my journals do not share a focus. I may decide to change some of the pieces I wrote about to other pieces from the same author, since I did not write about every piece I read. I will likely “forward” most of the material I read, though it depends on how long the unit will be and what fits into the “focus” we decide on. I will likely have to exclude Jane Eyre since book studies tend to take longer and are often their own unit in education.
